ColorSplash Apps for iPhone Review
If you tend to use your iPhone camera a lot, perhaps this is one app you should consider having in your Apple iPhone. It let you manipulate the images you’ve taken using iPhone camera, or those stored in the phone memory, remove/add colors as you wish, and share it will others online through video or photo hosing sites such as Flickr, and social networking websites like Facebook, Orkut, and Twitter.
The User Interface
When you open the ColorSplash app for iPhone, usually, it will ask if you would like to continue with the older session or start with a new one. However, if it is the first time you are using ColorSplash, it will skip the former question and go straight to the ColorSplash app screen. On the screen, there are options to take a new picture or load an existing one.
Either way, when you eventually open a new image, it will appear in black & white. On top of the interface are six icons – menu, help, two view modes, brush selection (four selection options), and one to undo any previous brush strokes made. At the bottom of the screen are three icons, for Pan & Zoom, select color, and select grey. The Pan & Zoom option aids the user to apply color in the edges/corners of the image effectively.
How to Use ColorSplash Apps?
Once the image is loaded, choose a suitable brush size and color, before painting it on the required parts of the image using your finger. It can be done pretty quickly, even though more diligence is sought while painting the edges. The Pan & Zoom option however makes painting the edges a much easier job. If any brush stroke goes wide, use the ‘Undo’ option to revert to the previous step, or cancel the previous brush stroke. Or you can use the Gray icon and use the brush to remove any unwanted color. The other application of Gray brush is to take away the color from large areas of the image in one go.
Once done with the coloring, and satisfied at the results, save the image to the memory. Or, if you have not done with the painting yet, but need to take a break, save the session instead. Later, you can resume the session by choosing the appropriate option from the menu.
Final Thoughts
Overall, ColorSplash Apps for iPhone is a great application, worthy of its $1.99 tag. ![]()
